I visited the Anne Frank House at the end of May 2016. The most telling part is that I did it as a newly disabled person so the challenges were real. When I came back I added my experiences to ‘The Will and The Way – The Celebration Continues’. It was a ‘liberation’ of sorts for me as I successfully climbed all the stairs in the Secret Annex. I found the Hero inside and I felt the liberation of freedom in my legs – I felt two ‘Anne Frank’ moments – but then I felt the sadness of knowing that the world learned of her triumph in becoming a writer through her own tragedy. Chai fm, a Jewish community radio station, asked me to share my feelings – listen to the podcast and believe that you too can find the Hero that lives inside us all.
